Smells like sherry-soaked Christmas pudding. Tastes and feel a lot more oaky than I would have expected from just six months in barrels. Slightly tough and cooked. Lacking freshness and follow-through.

Tangy nose, a little bit of VA there, but not dominating – just enough to make it interesting. This is delicious! The fruit is pure, concentrated, tangy – some dark, dried-fruit, Christmassy spicy richness and excitement; some black figs, purple plum skin; some pomegranate molasses. A skein of concrete and slate dust bringing minerality; a wisp of warm nutmeg and cool coriander. Spices tucked into every corner. A savoury framework that tastes as if it's been elegantly carved from mahogany. Both juicy and dry. Mouth-watering. Good length.
